SUMMARY:Cooking for Awakening with Jenny Lomas
DESCRIPTION:12 – 14 August 2016\nIn this vegetarian cookery course with heart, we will be preparing, cooking and sharing delicious meals together, with plenty of time for good conversation, daily meditation, and relaxation. From bread making to delicious main courses through to desserts and cakes, we will be transforming seasonal, fresh and store cupboard ingredients into wonderful meals to share. We will get a taste of why Zen Master Dogen (1200-1253) taught that cooking can be advanced spiritual practice, and you will go home with lots of recipes and food for thought.\n \n\n \nAbout Jenny Lomas\nJenny has been a professional chef since 2010, and most recently has been the Head Chef at the Riverside Café in Lower Moutere. Prior to that, she has worked as Chef at several retreat centres worldwide, including Jamyang (UK), The Abbey (UK), Mahamudra (NZ), Mana (NZ), Chenrezig Institute (Oz) and Chandrakirti (NZ). Jenny has been studying and practicing the dharma since 2007. Her passions came together when she found the Zen Priest and Chef Edward Espe Brown who teaches the dharma through the practice and art of cooking, based on the teachings of the Zen Master Dogen (1200-1253). She writes about her cooking and dharma adventures on the blog CookingForAwakening.net\n \nCosts: $175 ($150 if registered and paid in full more than 7 days before the workshop starts). This is brilliant value as it includes accomodation, food and a cook.\nPlus Dana (Donation) for Jenny\n
