SUMMARY:Nurturing Peace Mindfulness Retreat with Tash & Grant Rix
DESCRIPTION:Mindfulness fosters discernment, loving-kindness softens resistance, compassion cuts through self-referencing. Well cultivated, these three qualities nurture peace and heal the relationships with and between self and others.\nIn this weekend of relaxed enquiry, Grant and Tash will share a variety of meditation practices for softening and opening the heart to embrace the fullness of life – its many ups and downs as well as reawakening a sense of wonder for the profound interconnectedness of all things.\n \nAbout Tash and Grant Rix:\nTash Rix teaches in a way that is warm, relaxed and inclusive, encouraging enquiry and personal growth. She has over 17 years practice experience and is co-founder of Mindful Living based in the Bay of Plenty.\nGrant Rix has been studying and practising meditation all of his adult life. He has a sound understanding of the methods common to Buddha Dharma as well as modern approaches to mindfulness practice and research. Grant began teaching meditation in 2005 at the suggestion of his principal teacher Tarchin Hearn, and in the spirit of natural awakening, is interested in the many ways that the wisdom innate to all of us flows forth from each person given the right causes and conditions. Grant’s aspiration is to help facilitate such an environment when he teaches.\nSee more about Tash and Grant at www.mindfulliving.co.nz/aboutus ( http://www.mindfulliving.co.nz/aboutus )\n \n\nThis is part of a two week Mindfulness series taught by Grant and Natasha Rix. People can come for all two weeks, just Tash’s, just the weekend, Tash’s plus the weekend, Grant’s plus the weekend, or just Grant’s.\n\n \n \nCourse Fee:\nnon‐member: $193 + dana\nmember $178 + dana\n \nNOTE: The course fee includes accommodation, food and contribution towards Grant and Tash’s travel costs. It doesn’t include any dana / donation to them for their teachings. In accordance with tradition, this is left up to each individual to gift according to their own means. Please bring cash for offering dana.\n \nAbout Dana or considered generosity. \nDana is often taken to simply mean donation or gift. Dana is a Buddhist teaching about generosity of spirit or the sharing of blessings, the aspiration to generate health and goodwill in all the cycles of giving and receiving; the transactions of daily life. In reflecting on the practice of dana one begins to understand the interdependence of life. Dana is a gift that supports the livelihood of the teacher and their families. In turn the teachings offered are to support you in meeting with life with wisdom and compassion. Each participant arrives at the amount of dana voluntarily. Teachers of the Dharma are supported by considered generosity. It is customary to offer dana at the beginning of the retreat (there is a traditional bowl for this in the main hall). Giving prior to the teaching supports the experience of openness and generosity.\nContact Course Manager: Kate Hurst at kate@headheldhigh.co.nz ( mailto:kate@headheldhigh.co.nz ) for more information\nOr to register please fill out our online registration form\n \n \n\nHere are the additional retreat links below for more information:\nRestoring the Calm Mindfulness Retreat with Tash Rix, Sunday 25th September – Friday 30th September\nUnderstanding Meditation – Calm and Clear with Grant Rix, Sunday evening – Friday afternoon (2nd Oct. – 7th Oct.)\n \n
