SUMMARY:Compassionate Contact with Brandon Schwinn – FULL
DESCRIPTION:Dates: Friday 3rd – Sunday 5th November\nThis retreat is now FULLY BOOKED. To be placed on the Waiting List please contact the Course Manager Ross Innes-McLeish rossinnessmcleish@gmail.com\nIn this retreat we will explore contact between ourselves and our environment/community.\nUsing tools from Contact Improvisation dance, meditation and presence work we will expand a sense of empathy and connection.\nThere is a spectrum of possibility between stillness and dynamic movement.\nThis retreat will offer space to explore that and allow the impetus for movement to come from the awareness of the deep wellspring of our heartfelt listening.\nThis retreat is for dancers and non-dancers. There will be open jams, creative non-verbal spaces, for exploring new possibilities of interaction. By learning to trust the wisdom of the body, we will engage with our communities in more compassionate ways.\nAbout Brandon Schwinn\nBrandon Schwinn is a dance artist and meditator living in Vancouver, Canada. He has been practicing meditation for twenty years and finds it a fundamental tool for living a life that values compassionate action. His main training in dance is in Contact Improvisation where he has been studying at Edam dance studio for five years intensively. He has also completed a thorough training program for the art of clowning. Which is where his interest in presence work began to take an artistic form.\nCosts\nCosts include food, single room accommodation, a cooks fee and a small resource fee.\nRooms / Huts\nMembers $188\nNon members $208\nCamping\nMembers. $152\nNon members $158\nAbout dana\nThe costs do not include any payment for the teacher who is offering the weekend on the basis of dana (generosity). Please bring cash with you if you would like to offer dana to Brandon.\nAn offering of dana to the teacher, traditionally at the beginning of the retreat, and is a profound practice in itself. Giving can help us open; and through an open-hearted state of receptivity, we can find ourselves more able to receive.\nInformation\nFor further information contact Ross at rossinnessmcleish@gmail.com\nThis retreat is now FULL. Please do not register at this time. To be placed on the Waiting List please contact Ross.\nRegistration\nTo register please fill out our online registration form\nRegister now\nIf using Paypal please add 5% of the total cost and include with your payment to cover Paypal’s fees.\nPlease consider becoming a Wangapeka member – click here for details.\n
