SUMMARY:Heads up! Notice of the Wangapeka AGM 2025
DESCRIPTION:Heads up! Notice of the AGM 2025\nYou are warmly invited to the Wangapeka Educational Trust AGM weekend, which runs from Friday 18th through Sunday 20th July 2025.\nThis weekend is one of the only chances the wider membership has to come together throughout the year to connect, relax, and practice together, as well as do the important work of consultation and governance. We hope it will be an inspiring, fruitful, and rejuvenative time together!\nThis year, we are mixing it up a bit.\nRather than the usual “get the AGM done and bugger off” on Sunday, we the Board of Trustees will host the AGM on Saturday 19th. There are likely to be questions arising from the AGM that deserve time and space, and very important discussions that come out of it. We would like to leave space on Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning to have these conversations with more of the community present, to sit, and grapple, and vision together. To hear more voices, input, reflections and perspectives is really useful data for the incoming Board as we map out a trajectory for the year, and years, ahead.\nYou can attend for just the day on Saturday, or all weekend. We deeply appreciate and warmly welcome all who would like to participate.\nAnd it’s free! The BoT generously waives all accommodation and food costs for the weekend.\nThere will be an opportunity to offer Dana to the Centre to cover the accommodation and food costs.\n\nWeekend Program :\nFriday – Arriving. The weekend commences at 6pm on Friday with a BYO shared meal. We request that those arriving on the Friday bring enough to cater for themselves, and then we’ll put what everyone brings on the table. You are welcome to arrive anytime from 3pm to allow time to settle in, explore the land, and prepare your food.\nSaturday morning – The AGM is a formal occasion when the Board reports to the members about the past year, and proposes a budget for the coming year. This year we also have a new Trust Deed to present, and some key questions/considerations to raise. Members will vote to appoint new Trustees to serve on the Board. *** BYO breakfast for Saturday morning. ***\nSaturday afternoon / Sunday morning – Practice, Connection, and Conversation.\nFollowing the AGM, the Board will facilitate shared practice and emergent conversations that will support us to make clear decisions for the year/s ahead. Lunch and dinner will be provided for all those registered.\nNominations for the Board of Trustees :\nIt is a dynamic and pivotal time for Wangapeka. We’re looking for at least 2 new Board members this year to join the 3 who are continuing to help us do this all-important mahi.\nQualities of Board Members :\n\nhave an understanding of and commitment to the aims of the Wangapeka;\npossess (some of the) qualities and experience needed to manage the Wangapeka;\nhave the time to attend most of the board meetings, and for emails, extra meetings, roles and tasks that can occur between board meetings;\nable to actively participate in making robust decisions that represent the interests of the wider membership;\nable to identify and manage conflicts of interest;\ncommitment to wholesome relationship;\nfinancial members of Wangapeka Educational Trust;\nmeet criteria of Charities Services.\n\nIf this sounds like you, or you would like to nominate someone, we’d love to hear from you!\nNominations for Trustees can be sent to secretary@wangapeka.org by Friday July 5th.\nMembership Reminder :\nOnly financial members are eligible to vote so please pay your subscription if you haven’t already; $60 for members and $75 for families.\nPlease pay Wangapeka Educational Trust bank account : 03-0703-0156597-03\nand include your name and the word subscription.\nInformation and Registration\nContact\nFor any questions regarding the AGM weekend, please email info@wangapeka.org\nRegistrations are essential\n1.
