DESCRIPTION:Chimé Shore teaching at Wangapeka\nApril 1 – 10, 2026\n \nThe residential retreat is now FULLY BOOKED.\nIf you wish to be placed on the Waiting List, please do not register, but contact the Course Manager, Graham Price grahamprice2013@gmail.com to request this.\nUPDATE\nThe weekend events (Saturday 4th and/or Sunday 5th) are open to day visitors only.\nEaster Saturday:- teaching on the Namgyal Sadhana; a shared community potluck lunch; and scattering Mike’s ashes.\nEaster Sunday:- wongkur of the Namgyal Sadhana; a shared community pot luck lunch.\nRETREAT\nThe retreat is residential and the dates span Easter 2026.\nLama Chimé will be teaching on the “Meaning of Mindfulness”. With meditation sits, talks and discussions. Within this view, the foundations of mindfulness might be thought of as mental health and cultivating meaningful peace.\nChimé has also indicated that the community are welcome to attend, on a daily basis, on Easter Saturday (4th April) for teaching on the Namgyal Sadhana, and on Sunday (5th April) for the wongkur of the Namgyal Sadhana,.\nPlease Note\nRegistration is for people attending the whole retreat.\nIf you are attending on one or both of the Namgyal Sadhana days ONLY, please contact the Course Manager, Graham Price grahamprice2013@gmail.com to let him know for catering purposes, and so we know whether we can offer accommodation to those attending for the Namgyal Sadhana weekend.\nAbout Chimé \nLama Karma Chimé Shore was a founding teacher of the Wangapeka Study and Retreat Centre (1974) and the Origins Centre (1983) near Perth in Western Australia. He has studied and taught for over 40 years and received ordination in the Theravada and Vajrayana traditions of Buddhism. Chimé has studied with many eminent teachers such as HH 16th Karmapa, Ven. Kalu Rinpoche and Ven. Sayadaw U Thila Wunta. His central teacher was Ven. Namgyal Rinpoche, a very early western rinpoche and a thera (elder).\nChimé has a wealth of experience in working with a wide variety of people. He combines both the spiritual and the worldly. Chimé has been involved in community based projects in New Zealand, Australia and other countries, and has worked in the mental health system. He is also involved in expression and interpretation of sacred tradition in the teaching. He has an extended family life and dear family and friends. Originally from Canada, Chimé now resides and works mostly in Western Australia with some tours abroad.\nCosts\nCosts include accommodation, food, cooks fee and a resource fee. Liberation teachings are always given freely.\nAn offering can be made to the teacher, traditionally at the beginning of the retreat, and is a profound practice in itself.
