SUMMARY:Don’t Just Do Something. Sit there! 2026
DESCRIPTION:Don’t Just Do Something. Sit there! 2026\nStarts 6pm Friday 31 July, ends 3pm Sunday 2 Aug\n \nWant to learn to meditate? Perhaps you have tried and need some more skills and extra encouragement? Or possibly, you already meditate and wish to develop your practice and drop into a full weekend of meditation. If so, this retreat will support you to explore this.\nThe weekend will be mostly in silence, and offers you the opportunity to learn, strengthen and enliven your individual practice of breathing meditation.  Alongside this will be opportunities for sharing and questions, as well as time for individual practice, including space to enjoy just ‘being’ at the Wangapeka Centre – a very beautiful environment.\nThe Facilitators – Kath and Mark have facilitated meditation retreats and workshops individually and collaboratively. They have an extensive background in meditation and retreat work and have studied closely with their teachers over many years (specifically Ven. Namgyal Rinpoche, Bonni Ross, Tarchin Hearn and Cecile Kwiat).  Mark and Kath’s approach to teaching meditation is to gently encourage each person to touch into their inherent wisdom with friendliness, kindness and humour.\n \nCosts for the weekend – \nMember –                                                      $212\nNon member –                                              $232\nThis includes accommodation in your own room, 3 meals a day, a cook’s fee and a small resource fee. The Teaching is given freely although you are welcome to offer *dana if you would like to do so\n *Dana–the Teaching is offered freely although you are welcome to offer the facilitators Dana as an expression of your openhearted generosity and support for the Teachings.  Dana translates as ‘generosity’ – an act that empowers giver and receiver – and is at the core of everything that happens at the Wangapeka Study and Retreat Centre. You can bring cash if you wish to make this a financial offering.\nFor more information please contact: Kath Mitchell (Course Manager) mitchell.kath@gmail.com\nThis cost includes food, accommodation, cooks fee and teachers airfares.\nThere will also be two cash donation/dana/koha boxes available to enable us to contribute towards these precious teachings and to the Wangapeka.\nRegistration\nTo register please fill out our online registration form\nRegister now\nPlease consider becoming a Wangapeka member – click here for details.\n
