SUMMARY:Tiwaiwaka- caring for mauri and sustaining all of life
DESCRIPTION:Tiwaiwaka- caring for mauri and sustaining all of life\n \nFriday 10th July 5pm- Sunday 12th July 4pm\nKa ora te whenua Ka ora te tangata\nWhen the land is well the people are well.\nWe are all part of an interconnected mystery. The seen and unseen forces. The micro to the macro, all weave to give rise to ever changing forms and experiences. Our source of life depends upon Te Whenua Papatūānuku and a web of connections that sustains life. If Papatūānuku is well, all living things will be well.\nTiwaiwaka is a guide, showing us how we care for this web of connections, contribute to the wellness of Papatūānuku and care for the mauri of all things. In this way, the land is healed as are the people.\nAt Wangapeka Retreat Centre, an oasis of retreat, dharma and practice for over 50 years, the supportive conditions for healing are present. Change can often be seen in both the people and the land. We are subject to trees falling, rains, slips, new growth and opportunity, coming into being and passing away of all things.\nThis weekend of Matariki presents us with incredible opportunity to come together, to mark the potent time of Matariki. Guided by Pa Ropata Rob McGowan to more deeply understand about Tiwaiwaka, we will rest into the ground of practice of Wangapeka Retreat Centre, and be supported by the great mystery of interconnectness.\nEveryone welcome.\nFor more information or to register an expression of interest email Louise at louise.petzold01@gmail.com\nThe Wangapeka Educational Trust has a Sangha support fund to help with accommodation costs for anyone to access if cost is a barrier to attending. Please contact the caretaker for details: karen@wangapeka.org.\nCosts include accommodation, food, cook fee and resource fee towards Pa’s travel. It does not include dana/ koha for Pa.\nMembers over 14yrs: $232\nNon Members over 14yrs: $252\nAge 5-13yrs $60\nUnder 5’s free.\nAbout Pā / Rob McGowan\nTīwaiwaka was first put to paper by Rob McGowan, (known as Pā Ropata to many) a prominent Rongoā Māori practitioner, well respected for his work in the restoration of Rongoā Māori practise and traditional knowledge of native plants and medicines in Aotearoa New Zealand.\nBased in Tauranga Moana, Pa travels Aotearoa extensively, bringing the mātauranga of the old people, the whenua and the principles of Tiwaiwaka. This will be Pa’s third time to Wangapeka Study and Retreat Centre since 2020 when Tiwaiwaka took flight there.\n\n\n\n
