The aspiration:

This weekend offers teachers a nourishing chance to pause and re-connect to the source of calm and creativity. We spend time exploring mindfulness in all postures building a bridge between personal and professional life. You will get time to yourself and build connections with Open Minded teachers. You will learn how to shift awareness from thinking towards the richness of being. This is a training that embodies simplicity, openness, connection, clarity and caring.

The retreat is fully catered, it includes; accommodation, nourishing wholesome foods, resources and teaching.

Numerous teachers over the last eight years have been funded to attend this retreat with the aspiration to bring mindfulness into their classrooms. The mind science research is irrefutable, mindfulness helps children and adults build neural pathways of calm, clarity and creativity.

Words from a Teacher

“As a busy teacher, I really valued the opportunity to go on retreat. It gave me a chance to slow down and settle, and to work on deepening my meditation practice. This has helped to reduce stress and improve my family life. It has also been valuable at school, where I have introduced the practice in my classes, and lead a group of teachers who meet to sit together once a week supporting each other in our practice. I am very grateful for the opportunity to go on retreat, it has had a positive and profound impact on me, which is being passed on to others.”

Tim Wright, Social Science Teacher Waimea College.
