Space, with Bonni Ross

The final retreat offering in this series being offered by Bonni requires a good skill-set and subtle perception.

The first part will look at some traditional methods for accessing the experience of space/consciousness/emptiness.

Building on these discoveries, in the second part we will investigate formation of group consciousness as the platform for opening to infinite potential.

You may attend just Part 1, or Parts 1 & 2 together. It’s not possible to attend Part 2 only.

SPACE

Part 1: April 19 to May 3, 2024

Open to Experienced Meditators

(please dialogue with the Course Manager if you are not sure this is you)

Basic Buddhadharma offers focussed exploration of bounded space in the kasina practices of the five elements and boundless space in the cultivation of the arupa ayatanas. Wikipedia offers very clear guidance about where these practices fit in to the classical 40 meditations taught by Sakyamuni Buddha if these terms are not clear to you.

Mahayana practices explore the union of form and emptiness (for example, in The Heart Sutra) as well as introducing the concept of Dhyani Buddhas, which are also central to Vajrayana understanding.

Our exploration will evolve according to the skill development and confidence of those attending.

Part 2: May 3 to May 17, 2024

The pre-requisite for attendance is attending Part 1

“The whole is greater than the sum of its parts.”
The Western Mysteries tradition offers Star Group Meditation for healing, exploration of space/consciousness and the development of group mind.

This practice will be explored in groups of five, as well as with the whole practice community. Maximum attendance: 15.
