‘Don’t Just Do Something, Sit There’ – Breathing Meditation Weekend (Now Full)

Please Note: This Course is now FULLY BOOKED. If you would like to be placed on a Waiting List, please contact the Course Manager Jane Hobday on jane.hobday17@gmail.com.

Want to learn to meditate? Perhaps you have tried and need some more skills and extra encouragement?

Or possibly, you already meditate and wish to develop your practice and drop into a full weekend of meditation.  If so, then this weekend retreat will support you in exploring this.

The weekend will be predominantly silent and offers you the opportunity to learn, strengthen and enliven your individual practice of breathing meditation.

Alongside this there will be opportunities for sharing and questions as well as time for individual practice; including space to enjoy just ‘being’ at the Wangapeka Centre – a very beautiful environment.

The Facilitators

Duncan, Jane and Mark have all facilitated meditative retreats and workshops individually and collaboratively. All have an extensive background in meditation and retreat work and have studied closely with their teachers (specifically Ven. Namgyal Rinpoche, Bonni Ross, Tarchin Hearn and Cecile Kwiat) over many years.

This will be their third year of running ‘Don’t just Do something! Sit there!’ together. They have been encouraged by feedback appreciating the rich and stimulating dynamic which can happen through a ‘multi facilitator’ approach with different voices and experience included within the whole.

Mark, Jane and Duncan incorporate teaching approaches which gently encourage each member to touch into their own inherent wisdom with friendliness, kindness and humour.

Duncan is an artist and jewellery maker with a strong interest in connecting earth, planet, history, and events to the human story and condition.

Jane brings many years experience in education and a long standing commitment to collaborative projects.

Mark began working in the field of Mental Health about 20 years ago and currently works as a counsellor in Nelson at the local District Health Board.

The facilitators are giving the teaching freely. You are welcome to offer them Kōha/Dana.
