Heads up! Notice of the AGM 2025

You are warmly invited to the Wangapeka Educational Trust AGM weekend, which runs from Friday 18th through Sunday 20th July 2025.

This weekend is one of the only chances the wider membership has to come together throughout the year to connect, relax, and practice together, as well as do the important work of consultation and governance. We hope it will be an inspiring, fruitful, and rejuvenative time together!

This year, we are mixing it up a bit.

Rather than the usual “get the AGM done and bugger off” on Sunday, we the Board of Trustees will host the AGM on Saturday 19th. There are likely to be questions arising from the AGM that deserve time and space, and very important discussions that come out of it. We would like to leave space on Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning to have these conversations with more of the community present, to sit, and grapple, and vision together. To hear more voices, input, reflections and perspectives is really useful data for the incoming Board as we map out a trajectory for the year, and years, ahead.

You can attend for just the day on Saturday, or all weekend. We deeply appreciate and warmly welcome all who would like to participate.

And it’s free! The BoT generously waives all accommodation and food costs for the weekend.

There will be an opportunity to offer Dana to the Centre to cover the accommodation and food costs.

Weekend Program :

Friday – Arriving. The weekend commences at 6pm on Friday with a BYO shared meal. We request that those arriving on the Friday bring enough to cater for themselves, and then we’ll put what everyone brings on the table. You are welcome to arrive anytime from 3pm to allow time to settle in, explore the land, and prepare your food.

Saturday morning – The AGM is a formal occasion when the Board reports to the members about the past year, and proposes a budget for the coming year. This year we also have a new Trust Deed to present, and some key questions/considerations to raise. Members will vote to appoint new Trustees to serve on the Board. *** BYO breakfast for Saturday morning. ***

Saturday afternoon / Sunday morning – Practice, Connection, and Conversation.
Following the AGM, the Board will facilitate shared practice and emergent conversations that will support us to make clear decisions for the year/s ahead. Lunch and dinner will be provided for all those registered.
