A Warm Invitation to Join a Wangapeka Community Conversation
What Teaches? What is Teacher?
Kia ora koutou!
In the past few years Wangapeka has been inviting more members of the community to offer courses, facilitate and teach at the Centre by sharing their experience.
This has enriched and diversified the courses available at Wangapeka bringing fresh expressions of Dharma, made Wangapeka more accessible to a wider variety of people, and given experienced practitioners an opportunity to develop their teaching capacity.
A group of these people have been in dialogue with the Wangapeka BOT and elders about the theme of Teachers, emerging teachers or new teachers: What does this means to us as individuals? What might it mean for the community as a whole?
This has led to some members of this group seeking to open this conversation and question to the Wangapeka community, by inviting many voices to consciously participate in creating a clear and compassionate vision for the centre and wider world.
We are offering to host a community conversation around Teachers, Teaching and the future of Wangapeka on Sat 29th of July prior to the AGM on Sunday. Saturday will be a facilitated circle process, where everyone has an opportunity to listen generously and to share their views on this topic, and anything that may emerge out of it.
This is not intended as a forum to make any decisions, but rather to allow deep listening and sharing. Perhaps this could be the beginning of an exploration that may lead to an annual Community Visioning Hui?
All are very welcome! Cooked meals and accommodation is free for the whole weekend. Book now!
Warm wishes
Chani Grieve, Kath Mitchell and Jaime Howell
