Young Adults Retreat 2022 – CANCELLED

Young Adults Retreat
Finding stillness in a busy world.

Unfortunately this retreat has had to be cancelled. If you have already registered, you will be contacted by the Course Manager.

From Tuesday 13th to Tuesday 20th December 2022

YAR provides the opportunity for young adults (18-35) to come together to learn and deepen the craft of meditation. The Young Adult Retreat offers a friendly introduction to a universal nature based meditation retreat at an affordable price. One of the aspirations of the retreat is to build connections amongst young people throughout Aotearoa.

Our primary exploration will be a meditation on breathing, and this will be supported by a range of activities such as explorative art, connecting with nature, group processing, and conscious movement/dance. There will be periods of silence and reflective time to allow you to connect with your own inner wisdom. Guidance will be available for those young adults who are interested in learning to meditate, as well as for those who wish to develop their meditation practice.

The Wangapeka Study and Retreat Centre provides a wilderness environment of mountains, trees and river; an idyllic container for experiencing inner depth and expansiveness. We will eat from the organic garden, walk the mountain paths and take time to connect with the local environment.

Costs

The cost of the retreat is $375. This includes food, accommodation, and resources.

The overall cost is subsidised through the work exchange aspect of the course. The retreat is subsidised to make it affordable and accessible to young people.  This is achieved by inviting the participants to contribute some love and energy to the land at the Wangapeka in exchange for discounted rates.

Dana

In the Buddhist spirit of dana, the teachings are offered freely by facilitators. Dana translates as ‘generosity’ – an act that empowers giver and receiver – and is at the core of everything that happens at the Wangapeka Study and Retreat Centre. You will need to bring cash to make this offering.

Information

If you are interested in participating but have questions about any aspect of the retreat, please contact the course manager, Dan: danielburgess-milne@hotmail.com.
