Tree Planting Day

Saturday 9th August 10am

We have been lucky enough to receive a grant from the Biodiversity and Restoration Group and the Motueka Catchment Collective for 100 native trees to plant at Wangapeka.

We have arranged a tree planting day on Saturday 9th August and warmly welcome the wider Wangapeka community to come and help get the trees in the ground. The intention is to plant the trees around the new track to Omahu. This area has been prioritised for revegetation to help stabilise the ground and restore habitat following the disruption that was inevitably caused by constructing the new track.

All are welcome to participate in this practice of kaitiakitanga and giving dana to the land. The planting has been organised by the Wangapeka land care group and we extend our thanks to the Motueka Catchment Collective for supporting and enabling this work.

The day will start at 10am. Please bring some food for a shared lunch and let us know if you are coming as the day may be postponed if the weather is wet.
