Wangapeka 2021 AGM and Community Hui Weekend July 30 – Aug 1

Inviting you to …….

Wangapeka’s 2021 AGM and Community Hui Weekend
Friday July 30th – Sunday August 1st

In recent years this weekend has become a most wonderful expression of Awakening in Action. The Hui offers a rich theme for the community to contemplate and explore. The AGM celebrates the year that has been, and appoints Board of Trustee custodians for the year ahead. It is a time to connect with people, sow wholesome seeds, and offer your presence to the shaping of the Wangapeka of the future. The collective energy generated is deeply nourishing for all.

Oh, and it’s free! The BOT generously waive all food and accommodation costs for the weekend. There is opportunity to offer Dana to the Centre to cover these costs, and for our wonderful cooks.

Details of the weekend are below.

Registrations are necessary for the Hui and AGM weekend, so please email Faith at wangapekacentre@gmail.com with your accommodation requests and dietary requirements

Hope to see you there!

An Exploration of Service

2021 Annual Community Hui

Saturday 31st July
9am start.

Everyone is invited to the community hui for a day of looking deeply into an Exploration of Service.
This day continues the themes of our weekend Hui in March and is part of an ongoing Community Consultation process looking into the needs of beings in these times, and the emerging evolution of the Wangapeka Study and Retreat Centre.
The day will include workshop-style explorations into this theme, as well as sharing circles and practice time. Come and join us and engage in this fruitful contemplation for the benefit of all beings.
If you are interested in joining the planning team, please contact Louise Petzold at louise.petzold01@gmail.com

Notice of Annual General Meeting

The 2021 Wangapeka AGM will be convened at 10am on Sunday August 1st at the Wangapeka Centre. During the meeting we will receive reports from the Board of Trustees, the Caretakers and from the Treasurer plus the various sub-committees that work with the board. These include: Programme, Communications, Maintenance and Fund Raising.

Nominations for Board of Trustees

The meeting is an opportunity for full members to nominate new board members.  A full member is someone who has been a member for at least twelve months before the AGM.
New board members should be members of the Wangapeka Trust and ideally, be familiar with the aims of the Wangapeka, willing to join a team of committed individuals to ensure the smooth running of the centre and able to participate in decision making that affects the future of the centre.  Board meetings generally happen monthly either in person of via zoom calls, so members do not need to live in Tasman or Nelson areas.

Nominations can be sent to the secretary Tim Leyland tjleyland@yahoo.com or can be made at the AGM itself. The nominees, movers and seconders all need to be financial members.

New members wanted for Board of Trustees

Please consider going on to the Board of Trustees. This is also dana; offering your time to attend the monthly Trust Board meetings in person or on Zoom. Engaging with the other Trust Board members in this way is always a good and worthwhile experience, and you will be well supported in this role.
