All Day

Sanctuary in Uncertainty with Jeremy Logan & Roger Wilde

Insight Meditation Retreat
12 – 17 September 2023

In these unprecedented times of radical change and uncertainty, a new world is being born.  Courage and compassionate presence strengthens us to face into the chaos and not turn away.  With wisdom and determination, we can move forward together to create a world based on justice, kindness, and shared resources, rather than on greed, hatred and delusion.

The practices of Insight Meditation support our inherent capacity to awaken to wisdom and an open heartedness. In recognising our own suffering, we recognise our interconnectedness and see that our personal welfare and happiness is intimately interwoven with the wellbeing of all.

Jeremy has studied and practiced insight meditation for over 30 years and has been teaching retreats throughout New Zealand since 1993. He lives in the Wairarapa and works as a counsellor, supervisor and facilitator of change programmes.

Roger lives in Nelson with his wife and two sons, and works full time as an early childhood teacher. He practiced Soto Zen meditation in Japan for several years in the early ’90s. He has been studying and practising insight meditation since 2007, guided by Sharda Rogell and Jeremy Logan. Roger is currently undergoing dharma teacher training with the Insight Meditation Institute of Australia.

Dana for the teachers

In keeping with ancient Buddhist tradition, the Dharma teachings are given freely, in the spirit of dana. Dana is a Pali word that means generosity, and this is the foundation attitude for practice. In our modern world, dana may take the form of monetary offering. Participants have an opportunity to offer dana to the teachers at the end of the retreat
