Life As It Is 2026
“Growing Good Hearts”

With Louise Wilkinson, Chani Grieve, and Sarah Adams

Friday 4th September – Sunday 6th September 2026

Life As It Is offers families a unique chance to pause – to carve out intentional space in busy family lives, to breathe in and out, to connect with ourselves and each other, and enjoy being supported by a place and community that have been dedicated to spiritual enquiry for over 50 years.

How can our personal practice and deep commitment to contributing to a healthier, saner world share space with the joy and chaos of family life?

This year we will be exploring the theme of ‘Growing Good Hearts’. A good heart is a gift for the world, and a gift for life. How can we nurture and strengthen this potential in ourselves, our children, and in all beings? Together we will recognise, celebrate and grow our natural capacity for kindness, warmth, connection and care. This innate capacity is a powerful force, and a healing balm for our precious world.

The weekend consists of a gentle mix of playful whole group explorations and practice, dedicated time for both adults/parents and tamariki, and space to simply be immersed in the healing atmosphere that the Centre and the whenua offers.

Together we will practice weaving our inner and outer lives together, infusing them with our care, our loving attention, and our powerful aspirations for ourselves and for our world. We will be supported by the teachings of Buddhadharma – insights and practical methods that help us see clearly, live wisely, and love fully.

The weekend is facilitated by Louise Wilkinson, Chani Grieve, and Sarah Adams. They are all committed practitioners weaving the deepening enquiry of dharma with family and community life.

Children’s activities will be facilitated by Nyima Petzold.
