A Light in the Dark
Movement, Meditation, and Creative Enquiry
With Chani Grieve
Friday 27th November – Tuesday 1st December
In this increasingly dizzying and distressed world, as the threads of cohesion are pulled and tested in every direction, we humans have a precious opportunity, and a responsibility.
We are pōtiki, the last-born. We are still young, still learning.
And yet, as the only species on planet Earth capable of Awakening, what are the gifts and potentialities we carry? What is it that we, uniquely, have to give?
Body, Mind, Awareness, Love.
This Life, on This Earth.
Can we be a blessing for the world?
Our journey to freedom starts with the body. It offers a down-to-earth yet immediate way to connect with ourselves and align with what is real. A light in the dark, our bodies show us exactly where we are, and also the next step we need to take along our path. They are also the doorway to our entire individual, ancestral, evolutionary and planetary history, revealing the story of how we became, what we are, and what is possible for a human life.
“You need go no farther than your own body to understand the universe” – Namgyal Rinpoche
Weaving together movement, meditation, art and science, in this retreat we will enter the studio/laboratory of our own human experience. Join us as we embark on a restorative, creative, experiential and illuminating journey to discover a light in the dark, for the benefit of all.
In this retreat you will be supported by :
- Gentle movement sessions for liberating the body
- Guided meditation, suitable for beginners and those with experience
- Creative enquiry and contemplative explorations of the theme
- Skilful guidance and the emergent wisdom and experience of the group
- Individual and collective practice, with ample time for rest
- Delicious vegetarian meals and snacks
- The healing beauty and aliveness of the Wangapeka whenua
This retreat is suitable for adults of all ages. It may be of particular interest to those in the healing/education/environmental/scientific/creative professions, people with health challenges needing a gentle, attuned and embodied approach to healing, and anyone curious about how the body can guide our natural unfoldment into wisdom and compassion.
