Introducing our new Co-Managers Alicia and Ian

Hello Wangapeka Community,

The Trust is also pleased to announce that we have appointed Alicia and Ian Melrose from Wellington to be our new co-managers at the centre. They will be starting in late October and we really look forward to their presence.

Alicia and Ian come as experienced retreat centre caretakers. We see the commitment, skills and experience they bring as suited for this new role which they will carry as a couple. Together we will find a way to enable the Wangapeka to further flourish as a spiritual centre, be financially sustainable and be ecologically responsible. We feel we are at a stage where this is very achievable.

Message from Alicia and Ian Melrose
“We wish to thank the board and Wangapeka community for their warm welcome and introduction. With many decades of our own meditation practice in a range of different disciplines and with some profound teachers we are excited to embrace this next step.

Accepting the role of co-managers is a wonderful opportunity for us to grow and develop alongside many others in an environment rich in dharma. It is with respect and appreciation that we acknowledge all the good work that has gone into making Wangapeka the jewel it is today.

As long term experienced residential overseers we aim to enable the board and community to continue the development of Wangapeka.  All community support and creative ideas are welcomed. We look forward to meeting you and hearing your visions for the centre, more than that we look forward to nurturing those visions into realities.”
