You are warmly invited to attend the Wangapeka Hui and AGM 2019 on Saturday 27th and Sunday 28th July.
It’s a wonderful opportunity to come and spend time with the Community for a day or the whole weekend. Bring yourself, the usual Wangapeka equipment and some dana to offer for food and accommodation. (There’s no charge for food and accommodation over the weekend)
The Hui will be on Saturday. This has become an important part of Wangapeka’s annual calendar. It is a chance to sit in circle as a community and explore a given theme together, using Way of Council processes. It’s a practice of deep listening, without goal or agenda. The outflows of this way of engaging and listening to one another over the last couple of years have had a powerful impact on the Centre and wonderful offerings have flowed as a result. Sunday will be our AGM with a chance to hear from the Trust what has been happening over the year for the Centre. Start time is 9.00am.
The AGM is the time we also elect or re-elect new Trustees. If you would like to be nominated as a Trustee, have been a member of the Trust for more than a year and have a close connection to the Centre, please email Tim at tjleyland@yahoo.com by the 14th July with a few sentences as to why you would like to become a Trustee and what you are able to offer. All nominations require two people who are members of the Trust to nominate and second the nomination.
If you want to vote at the AGM, you will need to be a member so please make sure your membership is up to date !
We will also be fare welling our long term Board member Pierre who after 16 years as a Trustee, has decided to step down from the Wangapeka Board . We have been so fortunate to have benefited from Pierre’s financial knowledge as well as his deep understanding and love for the Centre. Pierre has offered to work alongside our new Treasurer, as well as continuing to be part of our Maintenance and Sangha Support sub-committees, but will step back from his responsibilities as a Trustee.
