50th Anniversary Gathering
Reflecting
Connecting
Re-imagining
Labour Weekend
Friday 24th October – Monday 27th October
Come help us envision the next chapter of this living dharma community we’ve built together.
For fifty years, the Wangapeka Centre has been our sanctuary—a place where hundreds have found clarity, community, and the Dharma. This long weekend, we’re gathering our collective wisdom to imagine what’s possible for the next fifty years, and your voice is essential to that conversation.
This isn’t just reflection—it’s active creation. Together we’ll explore: What does a thriving spiritual community look like in today’s world? How can we support each other to live with greater meaning and connection? What seeds can we plant now for future generations?
We will practice together in our beautiful meditation spaces, work alongside others on the land, and share stories that have shaped us. Bonni and Matthew will join us straight after finishing their 3 month retreat. Artist Jacqui Chan will be with us on Saturday morning to weave the essence of our collective visioning into a tangible creation.
Whether you’ve been part of this sangha for decades or joined us more recently, your perspective enriches our collective wisdom. Every person who shows up helps shape what emerges, and what emerges becomes something we all carry forward together.
What to expect:
- Nourishing conversations about community and purpose
- Group meditation and contemplative practices
- Hands-on work that connects you with the land
- Shared vegetarian meals
- Space to simply wander, wonder, and be present
Priority will be given to those who can attend the whole weekend, but please contact the Course Manager if you’re keen to come for a shorter period—we’ll do our best to accommodate you.
