50th Anniversary Gathering: Reflecting, Connecting and Reimagining What’s Possible

Labour Weekend Friday 24th October, 6pm to Monday 27th October, 3pm

This weekend will be our second 50th anniversary gathering at the Centre. Our focus will be looking forward.

We have harvested much from the richness of the last 50 years. The road hasn’t always been easy but we have been strengthened by the vision of Namgyal Rinpoche and the deep aspiration to support the awakening of all beings. We can certainly celebrate the fact that the Wangapeka Centre is still here. The vast network of dana continues to flow and sustain us.

However, today we face very different circumstances from those pioneers of the 1970’s. What is needed now? How might we collectively create the causes and conditions for a strong and thriving Centre for those who come after us?

What makes a dharma community like ours truly relevant today? How can we support each other to live the futures we long for and plant wholesome seeds now?

In addition to contemplation and discussion we will practice together, work on the land, share stories and simply wander and wonder.

Priority will be given to those who can attend the whole weekend but please contact the Course Manager if you are keen to come for a shorter period and we will certainly try to accommodate you if space is available.
