Two books written by Dyana Wells are now available

Exciting News

The first two books of the Anchors in an Open Sea autobiographical trilogy written by Dyana Wells are now available.

Dyana has been student of Buddha dharma for over thirty years, studying intensively with Tarchin Hearn, Namygal Rinpoche, Cecilie Kwiat and Lama Mark Webber.

These stories trace the adventures and misadventures of Alice’s spiritual journey as she understood it at the time.

Poetic and funny, always interesting and revealing, the stories will appeal to everyone who questions the tangents of their own path.

The setting for the trilogy is two sailing adventures through the Pacific ocean, including New Zealand, Fiji, Vanuatu, New Caledonia, The Solomons and Papua New Guinea. The experience of sailing, being at sea and exploring the islands is a rich part of the story.

What is life and can we live it well? We see these questions asked through the eyes of modern male mariners and the women who sail with them – and we wonder whether sailors can grow old gracefully.

Dyana’s journey is from meditation retreats and yoga practice around the world, to Pacific Ocean sailing and romance. Dyana brings her rich experiences of adventuring in the natural world – and her willingness to dive deeply into relationships – to her explorations into the essence of both ancient and modern Buddhist teachings. The books reveal the relevance of those teachings to the turmoil and pressures of modern life.

Because Dyana’s stories include the trials and joys of being a mother of three children, the books will attract a wide range of readers. Although autobiographical, some parts of the book have been fictionalised to enable the stories to be told well.

The books are available to order via Dyana’s website, with a special pre-Christmas price: http://dyanawells.com
